Overview
Research:
Andrea is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Primary and Community Care (CRIPACC). Her expertise lies in applied social science and qualitative methods. Previous mental health related projects included non-suicidal self-injury and managing adjustment to life on anti-retroviral therapy in resource constrained settings.
Since joining CRIPACC Andrea completed an evaluation of the Train the Trainer model applied to End of Life care in care homes, and led an organizational audit that mapped dementia education and training for Health Education England. Andrea is currently lead researcher on a project that supports the development of the role of Dementia Champions through education and training, and is involved in an NIHR funded project that evaluates continuing care of older people in care homes.
Affiliations: Andrea contributes to the regional Dementia Alliance’s education sub-group and is a member of the British Society of Gerontology.
Andrea has an emerging research interest in young onset dementia and appropriate care and support services for this group.
Teaching:
Andrea teaches Qualitative Research Methods on the Professional Doctorate in Health Research (DHRes) Programme.
