Overview
Dr Sunila Modi is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems and Project Management in Hertfordshire Business School. Sunila holds a PhD in Information Systems from Brunel University (London). Her main research interest is related to the application and adaption of agile methods and practices in across different contexts. Her PhD research work explores how collaborative work practices are being reconfigured for globally distributed agile software development contexts. Her current research focuses on collaboration and agile leadership within online and distributed teams
Sunila has presented her work at number of prestigious peer-reviewed conferences including IEEE International Conference on Global Software Engineering, UK Conference on Association of Information Systems (UKAIS) and American Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). Alongside this she has designed and delivered numerous workshops including ‘Driving Hybrid Agile for Global Teams’ for the British Computer Society Agile Methods Specialist Group.
Before joining University of Hertfordshire, Sunila worked at Westminster Business School, where she was involved in teaching and leading modules related to Agile project management, digital innovation and creativity.
Sunila is a member of Association of Information Systems (AIS), Agile Alliance and has served as a reviewer for various ACIS (ICIS, AMCIS and ACIS) and XP2020 conferences.
Her teaching centres around agile project management, innovation and creativty, digital business and she has extensive experience supervising graduate students.
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is a member of Assocation of Project Management (APM), Association of Information Systems (AIS) and Agile Alliance.
She has professional certification for AgilePM (Foundation & Practitioner).
