Overview
Qualifications: BEng MSc PhD PGCert FHEA
Dr Zoe Jeffrey is a full time senior lecturer in the School of Engineering and Technology at University of Hertfordshire. She received her BEng in Electronics and Computer Engineering and MSc in Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronics Devices at University of Surrey, UK in 2006 and 2007 respectively. She then completed her PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University of Hertfordshire, UK in 2013 focusing on real time ANPR algorithms on ARM-DSP SoC platforms. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Experiences
Worked for SONY Research and Development Laboratory in Basingstoke, UK between 2004 and 2005 where she gained experience in real time image processing on embedded processors (FPGAs and GPUs)
Worked for Cintel International in Ware, UK as a design engineer from 2007 to 2008
Employed by UH in 2008 as a researcher until 2012
Became an experimental officer from 2012 to 2013 at UH
Currently, a full time senior lecturer in the School of Engineering and Technology at UH
Research Expertise
Her research interests are signal processing algorithms for object detection and recognition, custom computing and real time System-on-Chip solutions using ARM based processors, DSPs, FPGAs and GPUs. She is also interested in intelligent transportation systems and vehicular traffic management.
Worked on various Hardware and software technologies from ARM, National Instruments, NVIDIA, Texas Instruments and Xilinx, and she is competent in C, C++, JAVA, VHDL, Verilog HDL, OpenGL ES, MATLAB and LabVIEW programming.
Her latest research focused on developing real time ANPR algorithms on SoC platforms.
